A large number of AS/NZS electrical standards, as cited in the Electricity Safety Regulations, including the most common ones such as AS/NZS 3000, are available free to download for licenced electrical workers (including trainees), in PDF format.

Electricity Act and Regulations

Legislation such as, Electricity Act and Regulations, Building Act, Health and Safety at Work, etc, are available free to download from NZ Legislation.

Electrical Codes of Practice

Several ECPs are also cited in the Electricity Safety Regulations:

• ECP 34 Electrical Safe Distances
• ECP 50 Repair and Maintenance of Domestic Electrical Appliances by the Owner of the Appliance
• ECP 51 Homeowner/Occupier’s Electrical Wiring Work in Domestic Installations.

Building-related standards

MBIE, The Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (Building System Performance) has funded for free download some standards used for Building Code compliance, available from Building-related standards.
