Master Electricians members from across New Zealand gathered in Wellington for the 2026 Annual General Meeting, reflecting on a year of strong progress while setting the course for the future.
Past National President Mark Rawson welcomed members before reports from the Board, Committees, and leadership team highlighted continued membership growth, stronger industry advocacy, investment in member services, and the growing impact of Trade Master training across the country.
Board Chair Omri Ash reflected on the organisation’s progress and the importance of maintaining a strong strategic focus for the future.
Chief Executive Alex Vranyac-Wheeler highlighted key achievements across membership, training, advocacy, and member support initiatives.
Throughout the day, there was a clear sense of pride in what has been achieved together.
From continued membership growth and stronger industry advocacy, to record training participation and increased investment in member services, the reports presented highlighted an organisation focused on delivering value for members while strengthening the future of New Zealand’s electrical industry.
Members also heard updates on the organisation’s strategic direction, financial performance, workforce development initiatives, and the growing impact of Trade Master training programmes across the country.

One of the most memorable moments of the day came as members paused to recognise the individuals who have helped shape the organisation over many years.
The AGM brought together an impressive gathering of current and past leaders, providing a rare opportunity to reflect on the legacy of those who have contributed to the success of Master Electricians.
A special presentation was made to David Burt, recognising his outstanding contribution to both Master Electricians and the wider electrical industry. His decades of service, leadership and commitment have left a lasting mark on the profession and were warmly acknowledged by members in attendance.



Tim Kennedy, Upper South Island Branch, was elected Vice President of Master Electricians New Zealand.
Tim brings extensive industry experience and a strong commitment to supporting members, helping strengthen the organisation’s leadership team for the years ahead.


Rhys Burton, Auckland Branch, was elected President of Master Electricians New Zealand.
Rhys takes on the role with a clear focus on member value, industry advocacy, and supporting the long-term success of electrical businesses throughout New Zealand.


Members recognised Mark Rawson’s outstanding service and leadership as he was formally welcomed into the role of Past President.
Presented with the traditional Past President blazer, Mark was acknowledged for his dedication, commitment, and lasting contribution to Master Electricians and the wider electrical industry.



As the AGM concluded, there was a strong sense of optimism for the future.
With a new President and Vice President in place, a committed Board, growing membership, and a clear strategic direction, Master Electricians is well positioned to continue advocating for members, supporting workforce development, and helping electrical businesses succeed.
